How it Works
As women, many of us are locked in anxiety, fear, anger, depression, despair, or hopelessness. We constantly fight off negative thoughts or repeat patterns of behavior, no matter how hard we try to stop them. We want to feel joy, peace, and hope. We might even know that these are promised to us by God. However, they seem to elude us.
Both psychology and the Bible tell us that if we want to change our behaviors or how we feel, we must change how we think. Currently, our way of thinking may be faulty. It has been twisted by trauma, scarred by shame, paralyzed by pain. However, our thinking does not have to stay the same, nor do we. Instead, we can seek Truth in Thought and experience radical change.

"Be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2)

The Lie
What is the Truth
As women, we struggle in our lives and our thoughts because we believe a lie. The lie may be about ourselves or God.
Some common lies women tell themselves are . . .
-
If people only knew the real me, they would reject me
-
If I want something, I have to get it for myself (control the situation)
-
No one could really love me
-
I am too guilty, too dirty, too ashamed
-
I’m not enough
Believing that all truth is God’s truth, I draw from therapies and treatments developed through the modern field of psychology as well as Biblical teachings. This is called an integrated approach. For example, psychology’s Cognitive Behavioral Therapy proposes that to change our behaviors or emotions, we must first change our thinking. This is consistent with the instruction in scripture.
I will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your needs and your goals so that you can achieve what you seek. You can learn to replace the lies you believe with God’s truth. You can heal from the trauma of the past. You can improve the life you live in the present. You can have hope for the future.

"Take every Thought Captive and make it obedient to Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5)
